I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two-time world boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
