Everyone's beloved pizza-loving heroes are coming to the popular trading card game. The popular trading card game's publisher, the game's creators, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive panel held at NYCC. Could this be a radical addition or simply another crossover marketing move? We'll let you be the judge.
Take a look here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with key background. All items listed below releases on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27.
MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals
Before we get into all the various unique products and collections on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by the developers. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per pack.
Let’s explore a few surprising features. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu ability, where players can cheat powerful creatures into the battlefield whenever an attacker goes unblocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can apply to spells that aren’t creatures as well. Wizards also used this chance to clean up the ability a little (Sneak counts as casting, as opposed to Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but it's more likely we'll see the new mechanic in future sets moving forward.
“If we ever were to return to Kamigawa, we might use Ninjutsu because that plane is it was developed and it’s a hallmark to that,” an experienced game designer stated. “However in other settings, because the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”
Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four special cards with special art created specifically for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator the co-creator.
Oh, and, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing game cards outside of your deck, many players were. Yet as per the developers, it’s now a legal card in every format of Magic.
In any case, here are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from this set:
Following the company’s current policy, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers say they were careful to ensure the new cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.
“I headed the development for over a year and we were aware it would be Standard-legal and what other sets would be near it in Standard,” the designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”
As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet archetype focused on artifact cards.
“They combine to provide the pieces for a fun Standard deck,” the designer says.
Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power
Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it includes six distinct legendary creatures who could work as your commander depending on how you combine them (five of the cards include a unique Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command zone instead of just one). Check them out below:
The Turtle Power deck is priced at $69.99, although that could easily go up due to popularity. Wizards indicated that it contains 43 new cards altogether, which translates to an additional 37 TMNT-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary commanders pictured above. (Calculating roughly, this suggests approximately 20 reprinted cards if we assume the deck comes with 37 lands.)
What will the Turtles version of Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

Turtle Team-Up
Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to develop Magic game products specifically for beginners. In this case, the cooperative set is a special set of prebuilt decks that allow two players join forces to face a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.
The concept is that every Boss card grants unique powers to the creature cards included in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
