British Airways to provide free high-speed in-flight wifi via Starlink partnership
Flyers on British Airways are set to access quick internet in the air free of charge due to a new deal involving the billionaire's space firm.
No-cost plus Quick Wifi for All
British Airways announced that the free, “reliable and lightning-fast” internet offering from SpaceX will be offered for travelers in coach, premium economy, or first class from the coming month.
Broad Rollout Across Multiple Carriers
The parent organization for BA, the airline group, announced it had reached an agreement involving Starlink for providing internet services for over 500 aircraft across the group's operators, including Aer Lingus, Iberia, plus Vueling.
Uninterrupted Connectivity starting at Gate to Arrival
British Airways explained that this rollout of this service formed part of a multi-billion pound “transformation” initiative and will offer lag-free internet coverage for flyers starting at the gate to landing, even when they are flying over oceans and isolated areas.
Customers can link multiple electronics and they will not require a unique login.

Existing Internet Services
Restricted connectivity access is presently offered for BA flyers on nearly all of its jets via its .air service.
Members of BA’s reward scheme can send communications and text-only emails during flights at no cost, while passengers who want to stream audio, films, or movies throughout their flight who are not flying in business or first may pay from four pounds ninety-nine and £21.99 for a connectivity package.
